Marcus Mosely, Bill Sample and Darlene Ketchum are individually, and together, an exceptionally gifted musical force not to be missed.
Marcus Mosely, has sung all over North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific, thanks to 10 years of missionary service. Since moving to Vancouver in 1986, he has performed in Ain’t Misbehavin’, Black and Gold Revue, and Show Boat; and earned a Jessie Richardson nomination for his starring role in his musical gospel creation, It’s Time To Sing. Six years ago Marcus formed The Sojourners, a roots gospel trio now with two acclaimed CDs to their name. The Sojourners conduct workshops, perform in festivals, and make media appearances across Canada and Europe. Last September, Marcus launched The Marcus Mosely Chorale, a 60-voice community gospel choir. Marcus will feature songs from his new CD release “Labour of Love”.

Darlene Ketchum is the choral director, a composer/arranger and soloist for the Marcus Mosely Chorale, working as a team with Marcus Mosely and Bill Sample. As MMC chorale director, she has worked with Jim Byrnes, Eric Bibb, Jane Mortifee, Blu Mankuma, David Steele, the UBC Choral Union and Singers, City Soul (Brian Tate) and the Sojourners. She was assistant musical director for the 2016 Gotta Sing Gotta Dance, production and she has done session work as a conductor and vocalist at various recording studios around Vancouver.

Bill Sample is a ‘first call’ musician and composer in Vancouver. As a jazz pianist, Bill has opened for Oscar Peterson and Monty Alexander. He has performed with Ray Charles, Mel Torme, Robben Ford, Art Pepper, Dee Daniels and Fraser MacPherson. In addition, Bill has played with pop stars Brian Adams, Celine Dion, Peter Cetera and Kenny Loggins, to name a few. A recent highlight of Bill’s career includes playing on the Grammy winning Ratatouille soundtrack. Bill’s recording credits are far reaching and include Ashanti, Simple Plan, Jim Brickman, Randy Bachman (Jazz Thing), Eric Bibb, Valdy, Seal, Leon Bibb, and Michelle Wright.

Norman Foote, born Norman Mervyn Barrington-Foote claims his name forced him to develop a sense of humour at an early age. At age 11, Norman’s parents gave him his first guitar, a finely crafted instrument from the Sears Catalogue. When Norman was 20, he left his home in Vancouver, Canada to explore Australia and New Zealand, and made his living as a street performer and songster. Norman first developed an interest in puppetry and physical comedy through his association working with a traveling theatre troupe in New South Wales, Australia. Enthralled with music, props and comedy, Norman chose the only feasible solution – to combine all three. It has taken him throughout the world performing in concert halls and festivals in North America, Germany, Ireland, Japan, the Middle East.
