Ketchum & Sample Quintet at Vernon Jazz Club

October 7, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Vernon Jazz Club, 3000 31 St
+ Google Map

These Vancouver jazz pros are not to be missed. Vocalist Darlene Ketchum sings Jazz, Soul, Funk, and R&B. As a composer, the vocal freedom of jazz, combined with the rich chords and funky laid-back groove, inspire her songs. Darlene will be performing mostly originals – some of her own and some co-written with Bill Sample.  The music is a bit bluesy, a bit funky with some smoky ballads and addresses the life and times we live in.  Her band will be: Bill Sample (piano); Rene Worst (bass); Buff Allen (drums); Bill Runge (sax). Darlene Ketchum Quintet will be onstage at the Vernon Jazz Club (3000-31 Street) on Saturday, October 7th at 8 PM. Doors open at 7:15 PM. CASH ONLY BAR ON SITE. Tickets $20 online at www.vernonjazz.com and at our sponsor, Expressions of Time (2901-30 Ave), with a $5 rebate at the gig for VJS members. Members receive 10% off their food purchase anytime at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill (Prestige Inn).
